Photo Guidelines

The photos that you upload to your performer profile are the most valuable tool you have to improve your chances of getting booked as a background artist.

Your Full Body Shot and Headshot photos will be sent to Directors, Producers, Costumes and Hair & Make-Up departments for approval before you can be confirmed for a booking. These photos are essential for getting work as a background artist.

Please follow the guidelines and reference photos below when taking your Full Body Shot and Headshot photos, including the types of images that aren't acceptable. Take the time to upload appropriate photos of yourself, as they can make a difference whether you're booked or not.

  • Please update your Full Body Shot and Headshot photos every 2 to 3 months, or sooner if you make any changes to your appearance. These photos must be kept up-to-date as productions always want to see how your currently look.

  • Take your photos in a natural light against a plain neutral wall or doorway. Ensure that the background isn’t distracting or obtrusive.

  • Don't add any filters or background blur effects to your photos. Productions want to see unedited images of performers and are wary of any photos that look altered.

  • Don't wear any hats or sunglasses in your photos.

  • Please review the reference photos below for more guidelines.

  • We understand that it may be easier to upload old photos from your phone's gallery than to take new pictures, but older photos rarely meet casting requirements and are often inappropriate and unprofessional.

  • Professional headshots are not required and may not be representative of what you look like today. If you happen to have a professional headshot, please upload it to the Professional Headshot position on your profile for casting to view.

  • Note that we are unable to submit background artists for opportunities if their profile photos are inadequate.
